Radio Link - Sport

Throughout its existence Radio Link has kept patients in touch with the sporting world, whilst they have been in the Derby hospitals.

Apart from any news bulletins, there have been dedicated programmes for any weekly and major sporting occasions.

Our award-winning Sports Department has monitored many different sources in order to bring sports results direct to the patient, as swiftly as possible. Several groups of volunteers have helped Radio Link by reporting from sporting events around the county, to keep patients informed on a variety of sports. On many occasions Radio Link has been the only station to be providing such a broad service. Our commentaries at Pride Park Stadium have given full match commentary of Derby County matches, via dedicated ISDN facilities for the hospital patients, and via Soccer Sight and Hearing Loop systems for visually impaired supporters at the ground.
