Radio Link - Music Library

The Radio Link Music Library caters for most tastes in music, with access to thousands of music tracks, some dating back to the 1930s! So, we do have a range of music suitable for the majority of our listeners.

However, even with so much music at our disposal, we are still unable to respond exactly to every music request. We normally ask for a second choice, to reduce the possibility of disappointment. To cater for changing tastes in music, our staff monitor the tracks requested, and try to ensure that our library is updated, to meet the listeners needs. We have gained a good understanding of the new tunes which are likely to be requested, so we are usually able to anticipate the patients choice, and purchase the music cheaply, before it hits the charts.

The music is catalogued in a custom-designed database, allowing our volunteers to search for music requests by Artist or Title. There are also sub-categories for the Albums to divide the sections into Male Vocal, Female Vocal, Groups, Orchestral etc. Each track is filed according to its media format; e.g. Stored on Computer, CD Single, CD Album, or Minidisc.
